LEIA BLACK & TWO CHILDREN - IMMIGRATION - JULY 3, 1905
NOTES:
This document shows that Leia Blech (age 35) sailed on the Merion from Liverpool, departing June 21, 1905, and arrived in Philadelphia on July 3, 1905, with two children: Beila, age 10 and Chaim, age 14.
When Samuel sailed in May 1905, he gave a Philadelphia address for his father, Abram. But when Leia sailed about six weeks later, she gave Abram's address as a New York one: 105 Rivington St., New York. (This is on the Lower East Side -- see this address today in Google Maps.).

- Although the transcript says they were going to meet "Mrs. A. Bleck," actually I think it says they're joining "Husband, Mr. A. Bleck c/o A. Harnan, 105 Rivington St., N. York." This is followed by a note, "In U.S. 5+ yrs.; heard 1 mo ago" (I am not sure -- the handwriting is difficult to decipher). And underneath it says "notified".
- For calling or occupation, it lists Leia, Chaim, and Beil as Wife, Laborer, and Child. It says they are not able to read or write.
- For last residence, for Leia "London" was originally written with the number of months -- perhaps it says 6? -- and then this was crossed out and "Balta" was written instead. For the children it says "Balta".
- It says their final destination is New York, and they do not have a ticket to New York. For the amount of money in Leia's possession, it says $10 and this has been corrected to $8.50.
